I have always enjoyed drawing so when our children left home to go to University, I decided to do a Bachelor of Visual Art at Deakin University. This was later followed up by painting workshops and classes in Melbourne. So from the '90s on I had classes with Janet Hayes, Shirley Bourne, Maxwell Wilkes and later Lee Machelak; all of whom used the tonal painting technique.
I am still a member of the Victorian Artists Society and attend workshops there every year, as well as going to life-drawing sessions at Wallace House.
